Immigration for relatives of US citizens

Both U.S. citizens and foreign nationals who are lawful permanent residents of the U.S. (Green Card holders) have the right to sponsor their relatives for permanent residence in the United States through the family-sponsored immigration program. To be eligible for this program, the U.S. citizen or permanent resident must meet certain requirements:

- Confirm their U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.

- Demonstrate the ability to provide a sufficient standard of living for their relatives, at 125% above the federal poverty line.

- Prove their family relationship.

Relatives that a U.S. Citizen Can Sponsor Through Family-Sponsored Immigration:

- Parents (including adoptive parents), if the U.S. citizen is over 21 years old.

- Spouse (husband or wife).

- Children under 21 years old.

- Children over 21 years old.

- Married children of any age.

- Brother or sister, if the U.S. citizen is over 21 years old.

Relatives that a U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) Can Sponsor:

- Spouse (husband or wife).

- Children of any age who are unmarried.
